The GPHA ADM is proud to announce our Late Start Program geared toward kids who want to start hockey but are too old for ADM. This will allow these older players a chance to learn the sport and work on skills necessary to be able to compete and enjoy hockey without being thrown into a league with kids who have been playing for years. I expect a lot of girls who are thinking about high school hockey to be involved, as many of the players on a high school girls' team had never played before that. This will give kids a year of experience and much more confidence as they go into competitive hockey.
The program will be ADM based but will be much broader in scope and will be age appropriately aimed at older kids. The focus is to prepare players to play hockey next year and be able to have fun and confidence doing it. Some kids may want to play another year, which is fine, but the idea is to get them on a team and have them fit in.
A wide range of ages will be on the ice together. Players will be grouped primarily by age. A 10 year old boy will not be in a group with high school age girls. Kids will play with and against their peers as they go through drills and games.
