President.
Subject to the directions of the Board, the President is in charge of the general management and operations of the Association, and has a supervisory role over all Association functions and oversight responsibility with respect to all officers, coaches, and managers. The President also represents the Association at all meetings of the Association and is the Association’s designated representative at meetings with other governing bodies. The President is a member of the Association’s Executive Committee.
Vice President.
Subject to the directions of the Board, the Vice-President performs all duties of the President in the absence or disability of the President and such other duties as may be delegated to the Vice President by the Board or the President. The Vice President has historically been involved in organizing special events and projects for the Association. The Vice President is a member of the Association’s Executive Committee.
Secretary.
The Secretary maintains and prepares all minutes in relation to proceedings of the Board and of the Association’s members and performs such other duties as may be designated to the Secretary by the Board. The Secretary shall perform the duties of the President if both the President and Vice President are absent. The Secretary is a member of the Association’s Executive Committee.
Treasurer.
Subject to the direction of the Board, the Treasurer has custody of the Association’s funds; keeps full and accurate accounts of the receipts and disbursements in the books and records of the Association; is principally responsible for all team and player billing and collection matters; prepares and submits a budget to the Board for its approval for each fiscal year, and keeps the Board apprised of the financial status of the Association. The Treasurer is a member of the Association’s Executive Committee.
House Director.
Subject to the direction of the Board, the House Director is responsible for the orderly administration of the House program and of the respective divisions of the House program. The responsibilities of the House director include:
• the identification and recommendation of head coaches for the House teams;
• organizing and conducting the House evaluation skates, player drafts and beginning of the season manager / coaches meetings;
• facilitating the ordering of all league jerseys, sox, and pucks and the distribution and end of the year collection of any Association equipment, including goalie equipment;
• organize and coordinate team pictures on behalf of the House program;
• to consult with division coordinators (if any), coaches and managers to achieve the orderly administration of the respective divisions and of the teams;
• ruling on any inappropriate conduct by players, parents and/or coaches (subject to the direction of the President and the Board) and the monitoring of the Association’s fair play policy and to make recommendations as to any revisions to the fair play policy;
• assist in the determination and administration of the master ice schedule for the House program;
• organize the House Snow Ball tournament and end of year closing day activities for the House program;
• order awards, trophies and prizes for the House program; and
• to represent the interests of the House program on the Board and to coordinate, develop, and administer any and all other matters with respect to the House program.
Travel Director.
Subject to the direction of the Board, the Travel Director is responsible for the orderly administration of the Travel program and of the respective Travel teams. The Travel Directors responsibilities include:
• the identification and recommendation of head coaches for the Travel teams;
• to help determine and administer the master ice schedule with respect to the Travel program;
• to consult with coaches and managers to achieve the orderly administration of the Travel and of the Travel program;
• to rule on any inappropriate conduct by players, parents or coaches (subject to the direction of the President and the Board);
• organize and coordinate team pictures on behalf of the House program;
• to facilitate the disbursement and collection of any league jerseys and equipment (if any);
• to rule on all concerns or disputes within the Travel program (subject to the direction of the President and the Board); and
• to represent the interests of the Travel program on the Board and to coordinate, develop, and administer any and all other matters with respect to the Travel program.
Ice Director.
Subject to the direction of the Board, the Ice Director administers and maintains the master ice schedules for the Association, including with respect to all Association activities. The Ice Director is principally responsible for negotiating and working with the rinks to secure ice on behalf of the Association and to allocate ice amongst the Travel, House, and other Association programs, and its teams. The Ice Director is principally responsible administering the Association’s ice and for developing a budget and plan for the Association’s ice for each season and for allocating ice costs amongst the Association’s divisions and teams. The Ice Director is also responsible for verifying the accuracy of rink invoices and is to act as the main contact between the rinks and the Association.
Registrar.
Subject to the directions of the Board, the Registrar is responsible for the collection and verification of all information necessary to complete a USA Hockey Certified Player Roster for each of the Association’s team and to coordinate with the Travel and House Directors and the teams to facilitate the completion of a player roster for each team and that all forms required to be delivered for each player have been appropriately delivered in accordance with applicable USA Hockey, MAHA, and Association rules, including the Association’s Member Agreement and that each player on a team has registered with the Association and paid the Association’s Registration Fee.
Communications Director.
Subject to the directions of the Board, the Communications Director is responsible for developing and administering a marketing plan on behalf of the Association and for promoting the interests and image of the Association. The Communications Director is responsible for a broad range of public relations activities, including media relations, advertising activities and in the ongoing promotion of the Association’s programs and activities, both to its members and as to the community at large. The Communications Director is responsible for the issuance of information regarding the Association’s programs and current events including the administration and updating of the Association’s “activities board” at the rink, as well as the continual promotion of the Association’s activities on the Association’s website.
Instructional League Coordinator.
Subject to the directions of the Board, the Instructional League Coordinator (“I-League Coordinator”) works with the I-League coaches, instructors, administrators and parents regarding the ongoing activities and administration of Association’s Instructional Program. The I-League Coordinator is to monitor the programs activities and keep the parents apprised of I-League activities and developments. The I-League Coordinator represents the interests of the I-Program on the Board. The I-League Coordinator should strive to foster a nurturing and tolerant atmosphere and to instill a sense of community and cooperation amongst all parties involved with the I-Program. The I-League Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the organization of teams, team pictures, and special events and activities for the I-Program, and for the ordering of trophies and prizes.
Coaching Director.
Subject to the directions of the Board, the Coaching Director is the administrative link to USA Hockey, MAHA, and its Coaching Education Program (CEP). The Coaching Director organizes and manages CEP requirements, assists the Association in the development of well-trained coaching staff, promotes parent education and provides goals and objectives for player skill development.
Web Director.
Subject to the direction of the Board, the Web Director is the administrator of the GPHA website. The Web Director will update, manage and assist GPHA personnel and teams in working with the website. In addition, the Web Director will work with the Communications Director to promote the Association through the website and in communications to GPHA members, as well as to inform GPHA members and the community at large regarding GPHA and GPHA team developments, programs and events.
General Counsel.
The General Counsel advises GPHA regarding legal and contractual matters relating to the operation and management of GPHA and its teams, and is also responsible for maintaining, reviewing and updating GPHA's constituent documents and the terms of agreements used by GPHA.
Girls Director.
Subject to the direction of the Board, the Girl’s Director will work to promote girls hockey in the GPHA. The Girl’s director will work with the coach’s of the girls teams, the House director and ADM directors to create a program and environment that promotes girls hockey.
